RIT SPIE/OSA Student Chapter

The SPIE/OSA Student Chapter at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is a student organization affiliated with two not-for-profit professional societies - the international society for optics and photonics (SPIE) and the Optical Society (OSA) - both serving an international community of scientists, engineers, technicians, and business leaders dedicated to advancing our understanding of and applications of light. The Student Chapter provides for the community of students at RIT who are interested in the science and technology of light by hosting professional talks, mixer events with other universities and local professionals, and by providing travel opportunities for its students to attend international conferences.

Imaging Science Club (ISC)

The Imaging Science Club is a collaborative effort between students, faculty, and staff of the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science and RIT's SPIE/OSA student chapters. The group meets weekly on Fridays at 1:00 pm in CAR-1275. Meetings include presentations covering current research in CIS, industry recruitment, summer internship presentations, and the opportunity to provide direct feedback about classes and curriculum to the Director of the Center for Imaging Science. All students are welcome to participate and hold leadership positions. And, oh yeah - there's free pizza.
