I have put up most of my digital picture archives on flickr. Many pictures are limited to certain contacts only.
You might as well get something for visiting this page, hence the random image
of a Rochester sunset to the right. I usually watch the sun go down when I have
the chance, since it's good for reflecting about the day and everything I'm
thankful for.
Rochester gets some really nice sunsets, particularly in the fall. The one pictured, however, was taken during early April in 2005. I had my digital camera handy, so I rushed onto the roof of my office building to snap a few shots. Unfortunately, the CCD's integration time is too short in low-light situations, causing the noise in the larger image. Finally, since I'm still on the topic of sunsets, I might as well spout a Thoreau quote which I came across while reading Walking: "It was such a light as we could not have imagined a moment before, and the air also was so warm and serene that nothing was wanting to make a paradise of that meadow. When we reflected that this was not a solitary phenomenon, never to happen again, but that it would happen forever and ever, an infinite number of evenings, and cheer and reassure the latest child that walked there, it was more glorious still." |
