Awards.

I designed the image quality of the Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock and Photo Printer product lines as lead image scientist from 2003 to 2006. The Printer Dock products are compact, portable photo printers which produce 4x6 prints without the need for a computer. My contribution was in designing the photographic color and tonescale as well as components of the image chain such as Kodak Perfect Touch image processing and sharpening algorithms. I hold a U.S. Patent on the color technology employed in these printers. Three models of the Printer Dock product line won the following awards.

Kodak EasyShare Photo Printer 500: This model has wireless printing capability via built-in Bluetooth or WiFi (with accessory WiFi card). There are digital camera card slots for printing from SD/MMC, XD-Picture Card, Memory Stick and Compact Flash cards. Owners of digital cameras with PictBridge can connect their cameras to the printer and print via a USB cable. The printer also features a large picture screen because this model does not have camera docking capability.

Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Plus: This printer dock model allows for direct connection of a digital camera to a printer in order to print photos and recharge the battery. This was the first printer dock to feature wireless printing capability via IrDA and Bluetooth (as a USB accessory).

Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock 6000: This was the very first printer dock model by Kodak. It was the first portable printer on the world market to allowing direct docking of a digital camera.
