Help

Hostname: This is the unique name for the machine being registered to be known by on the network. Just choose any name you please, we'll let you know if it is taken.

First Name / Last Name: The name of the person who owns the device (ie. John Doe).

User RIT Account: The RIT account name of the owner of the machine. This is also the name of your CIS account (ie. abc1234, abcpci).

Phone: Phone number for the owner of the machine (ie. 475-0000)

Group Name: The name of the group the computer is attached to. (ie. DIRS, LIAS, etc...). If there is no group attached, such as a personal machine you own, just leave as '---Unspecified---'.

Room Number: The building and room the machine will be located. Please use the format (XX-YYYY where XX is the building and YYYY is the room).

Manufacturer: Maker of the machine being registered (ie. Dell, Apple). If not on the list, just use 'other'.

Model: Model of the machine (ie. Optiplex GX280, Mac Mini ).

Serial Number: Serial number of the machine. This should be located on the machine itself. In the case of a Dell, please use the Service Tag.

Operating System: OS the machine runs on. If it is a printer or some other device, just leave it on '---None---'.

Mac Addresses: The physical addresses for each of the connections. Only one needs to be entered. Please use the format xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx with all lower-cased characters.

Jack Number: The jack number the machine will be tied to. This is the jack that the machine will be plugged into when using the wired connection.
