Mounting CIS Network File Servers

Installation of SSHFS Client Software

If you would like to be able to use SSH to mount any of the CIS filesystems on your personal machine, please follow the instructions below for your particular operating system.

Mac OS X

Download MacFUSE, mount the disk image, and double-click on MacFUSE.pkg to install MacFUSE on your computer.

Download Macfusion and drag the downloaded file to your Applications folder.

If you are running Mac OS X 10.6.3 or later, follow the upgrade instructions at Racker Hacker to make sure that Macfusion works properly with later versions of Mac OS X Snow Leopard.

You are now all set to mount the CIS network file storage on your personal machine.

NOTE: If you would like to defer the permission management to the CIS network file server (which is recommended), you should configure the SSH Advanced panel of your connection as follows (where "cis-home" is the name that you chose for the connection that you are creating/editing):

Windows

If you do not have Microsoft Visual C++ installed on your machine, install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package.

Install the Dokan Library.

Install Dokan SSHFS, the client program that you will use for mounting the CIS network file systems.

Finally, since the DokanSSHFS is not compatible with the latest version of the Dokan Library, you will need to overwrite these two files (these files are located in C:\Program Files\Dokan\DokanSSHFS on your machine).

If the above links do not work, please follow the original instructions located on the Dokan web site.

You are now all set to mount the CIS network file storage on your personal machine.
