The human visual system is one of the most complex imaging systems known to man, because many things are not fully understood about what and how we perceive the world around us. One such phenomenon that is only recently being investigated by scientists is change blindness. Change blindness is the inability to detect change in a scene when one is not searching for change. The research in this proposal is centered on change blindness and why it occurs. An eye tracker will be utilized to determine where a subjectís visual focus is and compared to where a subjectís attention is. The results of this research should advance the knowledge about the human visual system.
