These are unpublished internal Munsell Laboratory
reports. They in 8 parts presents the systems, samples, methods used for
multi-spectral acquisition and spectral reflectance estimation using
filtered tricromatic camera systems, as well as discussions about the
results, comparison of methods.
This report summarizes researches performed to evaluate the feasibility of using the IBM PRO\3000
Digital Camera System associated with Kodak Wratten filters to reconstruct the spectral reflectances of
artwork images and analyzes the performance and discuss possible enhancements.

Camera02.pdf
This report summarizes the technical approach using linear
and non-linear iterative models in order to predict the spectral
reflectance from the digital counts of a trichromatic Digital Camera
System associated with absorption filters.
Camera03.pdf
This part reports the experimental procedure characterizing
the samples and comparing spaces applied to predict the spectral
reflectance from the eigenvectors.
Camera04.pdf
This part describes the experimental setting and imaging
systems used to capture the targets specified in the previous section
(Camera03..pdf).
Camera05.pdf
This part describes the simulation performed to reconstruct
the spectral reflectance of Macbeth ColorChecker, in reflectance space
using several combinations of filters and trichromatic signals. It also
reports the colorimetric and spectral accuracy of the reconstructions, as
well as the metameric index.
Camera05a.pdf
This part describes the simulation performed to
reconstruct the spectral reflectance of painting targets in reflectance
space using several combinations of filters and trichromatic signals. It
also reports the colorimetric and spectral accuracy of the
reconstructions, as well as the metameric index.
Camera06.pdf
This part describes some of the significant simulations
performed to reconstruct the spectral reflectance of three targets, in K/S
space using several combinations of filters and trichromatic signals. It
also reports the colorimetric and spectral accuracy of the
reconstructions, as well as the metameric index.
Camera07.pdf
This part describes some of the significant simulations
performed to reconstruct the spectral reflectance of three targets, in the
new empirical space using several combinations of filters and trichromatic
signals. It also reports the colorimetric and spectral accuracy of the
reconstructions, as well as the metameric index.
Camera08.pdf
This part describes the results obtained in the simulations
and experiments reported in the previous sessions of this report
(Camera02.pdf to Camera03.pdf)
Report.pdf
This report summarizes an experiment performed to evaluate
the accuracy of the new multi-spectral acquisition system based on a
priori spectral analysis followed by wide-band capture combining
trichromatic camera and absorption filters. This report will be focused on
the multi-spectral capture and spectral estimation based on a new set of
complex image representing a painting and a series of color patches.
Report2.pdf
This report summarizes an experiment performed to evaluate
the accuracy of the new multi-spectral acquisition system based on a
priori spectral analysis followed by wide-band capture combining
trichromatic camera and absorption filters. This report will be focused on
the multi-spectral capture and spectral estimation based on a new set of
complex image representing a painting and a series of printed color
patches with a better distribution in color space.
