Laboratory Capabilities

Based on our current laboratory instrumentation, we have the ability to perform the following measurements. Other capabilities exist with our consortium members. Please contact us for specific details.

  • Diffusion Coefficients
    Isotropic Anisotropic

  • MRI and NMR Radio Frequency Coil Tuning
    Tune NMR imaging or spectroscopy coil.
    Frequency Range: 5 to 500 MHz
    Impedance: 50 or 75 Ohms

  • MRI and NMR Radio Frequency Coil Construction
    Design and build a radio frequency RF coil for NMR imaging or spectroscopy in the 5 to 300 MHz range.

  • High Resolution NMR Spectroscopy
    Field Strength (Bo) 7 T (300 MHz)
    Sample Size 5 mm
    Nuclei H-1, C-13, P-31, N-14
    Temperature -50 to 200 oC
    1-D Pulse Sequences* 90-FID, SE, IR, decoupling

  • Radio Frequency Magnetic Field Mapping
    Map the transmit and receive radio frequency magnetic field distribution in an MRI coil.
    Spatial resolution = 0.004 of largest coil dimension
    Field resolution = 0.01 of largest field value

  • Spin-Lattice Relaxation Time (T1)
    Analysis: monoexponential, biexponential, multiexponential, and principal component
    Field Strength (Bo) 0.75 T 1.5 T 7 T
