Color in Digital Images

• Red, Green, and Blue sensors in the camera or scanner

  • Typically more green light than red or blue
  • Usually measure 256 levels of brightness:
    • 0 (darkest)
    • 255 (brightest)

• Histogram
  • Number of “pixels” with each gray value
