“Split” the color image into the three color “component images” (red, green, blue)
- RGB images appear “black & white” (monochrome)
Want to combine the component images to create a “new” image of just the “original” text beneath the “overwriting”
- Measure RGB values of object “classes”
- Select two of the three images
- Scale one image to “match” the contrast of the overwriting and “parchment” in the other image
- Subtract to create a difference image with only one text
