CIS student Phil Salvaggio selected as COS Undergraduate Student Delegate for RIT Commencement

The College of Science Honors and Awards Committee has selected Philip Salvaggio as the 2011-12 College of Science Undergraduate Student Delegate to represent the 2012 COS Graduating Class.

Philip grew up in Webster, New York and will earn degrees in Imaging Science and Computer Science.  After graduation, he plans on  pursuing a Ph.D. degree, focusing on three-dimensional applications in computer vision. Phil acknowledges that the large number of opportunities at RIT allowed him to pursue and develop his interests, both inside and outside the classroom.  He has been a part of the student chapter of the Society for Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T) since his freshman year.  Phil has received numerous honors and awards, he is in the Honors Program, and he has received the following scholarships/awards:  Abraham Anson Memorial Scholarship, RIT Nathaniel Rochester Society Scholarship, Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science Fitz Scholarship, RIT Outstanding Undergraduate Scholar Award, Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science Carlson Scholarship, ASPRS Central New York Region Student of the Year Award, United States Geospatial-Information Foundation Scholarship, and the RIT Presidential Scholarship.
