KRONOS Time Clock Procedures

The following guidelines are to be used by hourly employees in tracking their work hours using the KRONOS time keeping system:

1. In general, the time clock must be punched on a daily basis.  Employees may not add punches to their time card in advance for dates or times in the future.  Nor may employees "informally" record their hours for multiple days and then enter them all as a batch after the fact.  Hours must be formally recorded in the KRONOS system in a timely manner.

2. In general, the clock must be punched upon arrival at your office.  Employees may not punch in from a remote location (like home) unless circumstances dictate, and then only with the written permission of the supervisor.

3. In general, employees will only be given credit for hours worked on campus at RIT.  If it is necessary to work from some remote location, the employee must have the supervisor provide written permission, clearly indicating the specific dates and times when this will be allowed.

4. Supervisors must provide written notice of any time that is to be credited as "excused with pay".

5. The punches on the time card must accurately reflect the hours worked.  Hours may not be moved from one day to another under any circumstances.

6. Each employee will be responsible for editing their own time card in the event that punches are missed.
