Welcome
In 1983, Franc Grum founded the Munsell Color Science Laboratory. Serving as the lab's first Director and the first R.S. Hunter Professor of Color Science, Appearance, and Technology, Franc was responsible for establishing facilities and initiating color science educational programs. Franc's untimely death in 1985 prevented him from witnessing the continuing results of his vision, determination, and effort that made world-class color science education and research at RIT a reality.
As a lasting legacy to Franc's mission, this facility was created in dedication and celebration of his foresight, hard work, and standards of excellence through contributions from the following alumni and friends of MCSL.
