CISLab is designed to be an all-purpose tool for use in analysis of images.
The goal of this program is to provide a powerful, and yet intuitive, piece of software
to perform the various tasks necessary in scientific analysis of digital images.
In developing the program, Histogram Operations, Convolution, Image Math, Fourier Analysis,
and Two-Dimensional Histograms were stressed. An important consideration was to make these
features as powerful as possible, while still making them easy to understand, even to the
layman. To accomplish this goal, the program utilizes extensive visual aids to help explain
complicated image concepts. Plus, a lot of effort was expended to ensure that the program
reacts to the user's input in a rational manner.
CIS Imaging Laboratory was developed by Dan B Hentschel, a student of imaging science
at the Chester F Carlson Center for Imaging Science in the Rochester Institute of Technology.
The program was developed under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Arney, CIS faculty. The program is the property of the Center for Imaging Science, and may not be
redistributed without express consent.
