Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science
Department Facilities and Building Regulations
The Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science is located in the
Chester F. Carlson Building, a four-level structure located on the
northwest corner of the campus, encompassing approximately 70,000
square feet. This building houses teaching laboratories, classrooms,
faculty offices, research laboratories and a 150 seat auditorium. The
building is a center for imaging education, research, and professional
activity in the Rochester area.
The department office is located in Room 2260. Student records and
various records information forms are housed in building 8 Room 1114.
The records secretary, will greet you as you come in the office. She
will answer your questions or direct you to the most knowledgeable
source for the answer to your question.
Student mail folders are located in the Northeast corner of the
foyer in building 76. All inter-departmental mail, schedule
verifications, grade reports, and messages will be delivered to you
through this mail folder. Please check this folder daily.
Telephone calls for students cannot be accepted in the department
office, except in emergency situations. Several pay telephones are
located throughout the campus for student use.
Graduate Student Offices are located in various suites around
Building 76 as well as in the IT Collaboratory (Building 17, 3rd
floor). The offices
are open to all graduate students for research and study.
Personal property is the responsibility of the student. RIT and the
Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science assumes no responsibility
for items belonging to students. Found items may be turned in to the
department office.
Pets are not allowed on the RIT campus. Seeing-eye or hearing-ear dogs are permitted to accompany their owners.
Smoking, in accordance with the County of Monroe regulations, is
permitted only in designated areas on campus. There is no smoking in
the buildings, except for designated areas in the College Union
cafeteria and Ritskeller.
Safety rules within the Center require that all accidents and
injuries be reported to the instructor in charge of the facility at the
time of the accident, to the Coordinator of the degree program, and to
Campus Safety.
Shoes must be worn in all classrooms and laboratories in accordance with RIT safety regulations.
Fire alarms indicate that all students, faculty and staff must
vacate the building immediately. When leaving, turn off running water
and electrical power and lock the area you are vacating.
