Abstract = {A psychophysical experiment was performed to determine the direction of least and most preferred color shifts for digital images. 360 images were subdivided into 18 hue regions. The pixels in each hue region were shifted eight directions in IPT color space, and observers were asked to classify which direction was least preferred, and which was most preferred. From these data preference maps were generated indicating the shifts in color space that should be avoided, if possible, when designing color reproduction systems.},
