About WASP Lite

WASP Lite has been designed to be an ultraportable, specialized version of our WASP system.

It can be flown in a Cessna aircraft, in a fixed configuration, unlike WASP's gimballing configuration. It was designed from the outset to be smaller and less expensive than the WASP system, allowing it to be more flexibile in other ways. It also has a positioning system designed in house to keep cost and size down.

Instruments

WASP Lite consists of 7 imagers. Six imagers are unfiltered panchromatic. These cameras are intended to have an appropriate filter screwed on before an observation. There is also a longwave infrared/thermal microbolometer.

These filters can very easily be replaced before each flight, to allow for more flexible observation capabilities, and to allow for many different applications.
